180 FREESTANDING LED AWNING

The Eclipse 180 Freestanding LED Awning held firm in winds exceeding 50 km/h. Even after deliberately pushing the limits and causing damage, I was able to repair the awning and repeat the same level of performance. To monitor wind speeds accurately, we used the Omega OM-CP-WIND101A wind speed data logger, calibrated with information from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, taking readings every second throughout the test period. Based on the results and observations, the Eclipse 180 Freestanding LED Awning is rated for freestanding use up to 30 km/h. However, we strongly recommend always deploying the included poles and securing the awning with pegs and guy ropes. Weather can change quickly, and proper setup helps protect both your awning and your vehicle. Besides its durability, the Eclipse 180 Freestanding LED Awning comes packed with features designed to elevate your outdoor experience.

Dimmable LED light strips are integrated into the rafter arms, including an amber mode to help reduce insect attraction. The innovative two-piece backing plate allows for a fully enclosed transit cover, improving weather protection while still making it easy to move the awning between vehicles. Built-in 8 mm sail tracks give you the flexibility to add a variety of accessories. For even more coverage, optional awning wall kits are available, increasing the sheltered area from 8.2 to 16.5 m². 

Please note: When the awning is mounted to a rooftop tent, the support poles must always be used to prevent damage.

Ensure your roof-mounting system is suitable for the weight and leverage of the awning. The supplied brackets fit most standard roof racks and steel baskets, but some platform racks may require long brackets (T050801751B). For tailored installation advice, consult your local roof-rack specialist.
