DARCHE is the first in Australia to conduct extensive wind testing on a freestanding awning. Over a 30-day test period, the Eclipse 270 endured conditions ranging from light breezes to severe gales on the Beaufort scale.

Key results:

• Held up to 50 km/h winds during initial freestanding tests
• Withstood 55 km/h after repairs in a follow-up trial
• Managed 90 km/h winds with poles deployed and securely pegged
• Engineered break-points are built in to prevent major damage and enable easy repair

The awning is rated for 30 km/h freestanding, but we always recommend using the included three poles, pegs and guy ropes, as weather conditions can be unpredictable.

Installation Notes

• When mounted next to a rooftop tent, the three included poles must always be used.
• In heavy rain, some water ingress may occur through the RTT access hatch.
• Ensure your roof rack system is suitable. The supplied brackets fit most standard racks; some platform racks may require long brackets (T050801751B or T050801753). Consult your local roof rack specialist for recommendations.
